Game "Draw a Situation"
“Delineate the Situation” is a fun board game where you have to guess what the author meant.
The game was invented by Marfa Ageenkova, a student who learns several languages and collects unusual phrases and all sorts of linguistic "chips". We played a handwritten version of the game at a friendly New Year's Eve party, were delighted and decided to design and release it.
The main element of the game is a set of cards with witty ambiguous texts. These are quotes from world literature, stable expressions, memes, phrases from films, songs and cartoons that vary in style and character.
The task of the presenter is to draw a picture explaining what is written on the card. Since the texts are not simple, it is impossible to illustrate them literally, you have to use your imagination and come up with metaphors. The other players are watching the creative process and trying to guess which phrase or quote is shown in the picture.
Each part of the game is unique and one can only wonder how differently the meaning of familiar words can be revealed.
