Book for children “Through the Ice”

“Through the Ice” is an illustrated educational book for children about the Arctic and nuclear icebreakers.

The book was made in the studio from beginning to end by order of Rosatom. In addition to designing the design, we produced the project from writing the text to releasing the finished edition.
The book tells about the nature of the Arctic and the history of its exploration, about the development of shipping in this region and how scientists came up with nuclear icebreakers and how they are arranged.

We have assembled an author's and scientific team to work on the project. Children's writers Natalia and Vasily Volkov wrote the text. All the factual material has been verified by scientific editors. The artist Elizaveta Serova has made illustrations that play no less a role in the book than the text.

The publication is designed as an illustrated encyclopedia. The visual language combines atmospheric illustrations, infographics, and detailed diagrams, which have also been tested for authenticity. As a result, it was possible to tell figuratively and vividly about complex physical processes and technical inventions.
The book contains a map of the Arctic and a set of stickers that allow the child to independently "plot" the routes of icebreakers.
